Through exploring clay and its connection to the landscape, students will create their own sculptural flatscape with consideration to aspects such as rims, feet, walls, surface textures and their purpose. A variety of raw materials will be provided to alter the state of natural clay bodies. This is a hands-on workshop open to all experience levels. An introductory tool kit will be provided as a take home gift. After the workshop, Claudia will glaze and fire pieces which will be available for collection at Studio Local eight weeks from the workshop.

Using various clay bodies and raw materials on the potter’s wheel and hand forming processes to create modern and elegant ceramic artefacts. Claudia is interested in exploring in the capabilities of what ceramic ware can be. Making pieces that inherent an affinity for natural materials that take on innovative shapes contemporary aesthetics. Her studio practice incorporates a range of retail, creative and collaborative projects, using her practice as a platform to connect with like minded individuals. Each piece is designed, crafted and finished by hand in her studio in Collingwood. It is with this intention and care in making that makes each piece timeless and individual.
