Design your own mementos with MAMORU at Pink Ember Studio!
A single session workshop will run in Coburg at Pink Ember Studios. (40A O'Hea Street, COBURG).
Limited to FIVE spaces, guests will get the opportunity to embed and pour FOUR exclusive pairs of earrings at the Mamoru studio, meet Rosaleen and see how the Mamoru studio runs. The earring shapes provided will only be available to those who join us at the workshop, and you will get the choice of four new shapes ranging in size, two large drop style earrings and two pairs of single length studs!! Pieces are available to be made with pierced or clip on attachments, all are hypoallergenic surgical steel.
Guests are encouraged to bring along DRIED flowers of their own, to make intimate and personal jewellery for themselves or a loved one, or to select from the Mamoru archives and make an entirely new memory keepsake.
The class will be held one evening and will run for approx two hours. Please email if you are allergic to latex gloves.
On the day guests will receive a health and safety briefing, be introduced to all materials, and be walked through the pouring process. At the end of the workshop all earrings will continue to cure for three days, and then Rosaleen will finish and polish all your gems by hand herself, and post or pick up options are available subject to studio open hours. To be clear, the workshop does not allow moulds or excess materials to be taken home.
This class will not teach you how to finish your resin jewellery yourself or how to make silicone moulds, it is a course in how to responsibly work with resin during the pour, how to design and set up your flora inside moulds, and how to be conscious of your environmental footprint when hobbying with resin, and most importantly a fun opportunity to design your own MAMORU earrings. This is not a class for learning how to start your own resin jewellery label.
The cost of the course covers all health and safety equipment, resin, use of the custom moulds (but no moulds are to be taken home), sandpaper and polishing equipment used in studio, pigments, gold leaf and floral materials. It will also contribute to the hire of the space, and for Rosaleen to teach you how to responsibly work with resin, and then after to polish and finish your customised jewels for you by hand.
If you have any questions at all please contact firstname.lastname@example.org with WORKSHOP in the heading.
Workshop times are non negotiable and workshops are non refundable. Closer to the date if you cannot make it you will have to reschedule into another workshop at the discretion of Mamoru and availability. Mamoru reserves the rights to refuse last minute changes and refunds. Mamoru reserves the right to postpone the workshop due to weather (In the case of an extremely hot day the resin cannot be used due to health and safety requirements).
