Drop-by Drawing

  • NGV International 180 Saint Kilda Road Southbank, VIC, 3006 Australia (map)

Spend your Sunday afternoons drawing alongside some of the NGV’s most treasured works as Drop-by Drawing returns each Sunday in September, led by local artists.

Sunday 1st September, 2–4pm:
This session will be led by Katherine Hattam. Hattam’s practice encompasses drawing, collage, printmaking and sculpture centred on the dialects of domesticity, family and self.

Sunday 8th September, 2–4pm:
This session will be led by Oslo Davis. Davis creates drawings that traverse a great range of styles, from the comical to the decorative, the instructional to the subversive, the serviceable to the absurd.

Sunday 15th September, 2–4pm:
This session will be led by Kirstin Guenther. Guenther is a visual artist and trained art teacher with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) and a Bachelor Degree (Education). She has experience working with prominent Australian artists and working in the community sector.

Sunday 22nd September, 2–4pm:
This session will be led by Lily Mae Martin. She was awarded the Lionel Gell travelling scholarship and went to Berlin, where she spent several years refining her technical practice.

Sunday 29th September, 2–4pm:
This session will be led by Kenny Pittock. Pittock uses humour and sentimentality to playfully respond to contemporary Australian culture, having fun with the overlaps and boundaries between the public and the personal.

Venue: 18th Century Gallery, Level 2, NGV International
