Melbourne has been voted the most liveable city in the world for seven years in a row, and our arts programming and festival-making plays no small part in the cultural sustainability of our creative ecosystem. What is the nature of place in a city like Melbourne and what is the place of art in that space? Does curation need to be representative, responsive or revolutionary? How does curation need to evolve to create more inclusive, experiential and conscious engagement? Do we even need curation at all?
This evening draws together artistic directors and programmers who are responsible for tastemaking in our city, and attempts to get from the shell of the seasons to the kernel of its curators. The conversation will be facilitated by Simon Abrahams, Creative Director/CEO, Melbourne Fringe.
