AFC Curated is a must see for lovers of Melbourne and Australian fashion design. This collaboration between the Australian Fashion Council and Melbourne Fashion Week sees 18 independent Australian fashion labels under one roof for 8 days starting on the 31st of August.
This exhibition is being held at the Swanston Hall in the iconic Melbourne Town Hall, right in the heart of the runways and events of the Melbourne Fashion Week.
Local creatives Architecture Architecture and lighting designer Paul Lim of ADDITIVE have teamed up to transform the space into a vibrant fashion hub where you can meet, connect and shop your favourite local fashion brands. Come and check it out, see the local talent and get to know the future of Australian fashion design.
The Australian Fashion Council (AFC), as the peak industry body, exists to promote the growth of the textile & fashion industry in Australia, with over 65 years service to the industry. The AFC is a not-for-profit membership organisation, with members drawn from across the fashion and textile industry value chain. From students to multinational companies. From shopping centres to fibre growers. From workwear companies to luxury goods. From the product to the consumer.
Supporting emerging labels and designers is a key part of that ecosystem, which is where the AFC Curated program fits in.
This year’s showcase is something else. In the spirit of celebrating local design, we’re thrilled to be collaborating with the creatives at Architecture Architecture and ADDITIVE, who’ve designed a unique retail space within Town Hall to house the collections of our 18 labels.
