You’ve no doubt seen Caitlin’s amazing work on our blog because we’ve been working with her since the beginning. She’s an absolute gun when it comes to taking breathtaking pictures and it was about time that we sat down to have our Five Minutes and share a bit more about her passion for photography.

MM: When did you start taking pictures?

CM: My photography story started at a young age in the Victorian High Country where my family have a small cabin under Mt Buller. My dad was an avid photographer and together we would head out into the surrounding bush with his old film Leica in hand to photograph. I cherish these early memories and often draw inspiration from nature and the high country.

I went onto study Photography and Graphic Design at University and honed my photography skills as an assistant before going out on my own.

MM: What's your favorite thing or place to photograph?

CM: I love the variety and challenges that come with my job. One day I’m shooting a Truffle masterclass for The Design Files (a personal favourite) and the next I’m working with talented stylists to create and capture beautiful still life’s or interiors. Working with inspiring creatives and passionate people is what makes it all worth it!

MM: What's your favorite travel destination and why?

CM:I love travelling to destinations that are off the beaten track. Sometimes a little harder to get to but worth the extra effort!

A recent trip to Oman in the Middle East had an allure of mystery, wide open spaces, remarkable locals and fascinating cultures which I believe is what travelling is all about.

MM:Where do you get your coffee and best meal from?

CM: Our favourite local haunt for a delicious dinner is 48 Hours, a pizza and gnocchi bar which serves up the most mouth-watering authentic Italian pizza and wine!!

And for the best coffee I can’t resist Second Home in the back streets of Eltham where I grew up.

MM: What are you excited about for the future?

CM:In the future I’m excited to work with more inspiring creatives and clients; and I hope to push my photography practice and develop as a creative.

I also have a few personal projects that I’m hoping to bring to life!
