Words: Manuela Millan
I have always admired the super talented Nat Turbull so after repeatedly bumping into each other at parties and design events I decided to have a chat and get to know a bit more about her and her work.
MM: What is an art director?
NT:An Art Director creates a concept and visual identity for a client. They are involved from the concept faze to the output.
MM: What’s your favorite part of working as a stylist?
NT: love the challenge of a new project and that amazing feeling when you create something special.
MM: What has been the most memorable job and why?
NT: I loved working on a job I did last year for Laminex. It was an amazing team and the biggest prop haul i have done before, so it was challenging and ultimately really rewarding as I loved the images.
MM:You have done some of the most amazing still images, how do you come up with these ideas? Do you have a process you follow every time you create these images?
NT: Thank you! There are so many amazing still life stylists and photographers in the world. Ideas come from everywhere, I feel like I always have my eyes open to see new things or experience new things. In terms of a process, I try and write a statement of intention for every job because while sometimes its fun to just makes things beautiful, sometimes that isn’t the exact brief. So it’s always important to know your intention.
