Navi by Centre Showroom

Melbourne based Centre Plumbing has achieved the ultimate partnership – a place where designer looks meet practical experience.

The new Navi bathroom and kitchen showroom offers the beauty of European design coupled with a team backed by over 70 years of plumbing know-how. Features include Italian brands such as Studio Bagno, Bocci, Zucchetti, Paco Jaanson and a unique marble tapware range by Marmo.

Tucked away in a surprising part of Melbourne’s Glen Iris, the bold new showroom is a feast for the senses with its glamorous interior design and curated selection of fittings.

Managing Director, Cliff Bodsworth, brought together a dream team to deliver what is tipped to become the stand-out bathroom showroom in Australia.
Flack Studio was chosen interior designer. With David as the interior architect, his trademark charisma, flair and inviting design is seen in spades in the new showroom.
Dynamic design duo Pop&Pac managed the brand work and delivered a visual package that perfectly balances the down to earth character of the business with the elegance and excitement of the new space.

“The showroom is certainly beautiful, but we also want it to be a place where everyone can feel welcome and comfortable – from architects and designers to home renovators”

Interior Design Notes

Flack Studio has created a space more akin to a high-end retail store or gallery space while maintaining an environment that encourages collaboration and creative exploration. Light, volume and room for the product to breathe was essential and the creation of smaller, more intimate spaces offers relief to the visitor.

The interior design complements and enhances the brand work for Navi – taking the traditional colour of plumber’s overalls and celebrating the everyday object. The palette was inspired by materials derived from the plumbing industry - balancing raw with refined, cool with warm.

The design emphasises materials used within a home to further evoke a warm welcome to visitors and a comfortable space to explore ideas for a project. The space provokes a feeling of play, light, texture and form utilising natural materials including stone, timber and brass.

The result is a mixture between high and low materiality via selection of unique materials such as warm Carrara marble, dramatic blue marble, European oak flooring, steel, leathered granite and custom lighting throughout.

The project marks a significant turning point in retail design, where an industry relatively unfamiliar with considered interior architecture, can play a major role in Australia’s design future.
