When visiting Congress in Collingwood you always feel like a local. You know you’ll try something new and delicious, and also have the time to appreciate it un-rushed.

We love the double height ceiling and raw concrete columns which contrast with the warm timber ceiling and furniture. Lighting plays a major role with loads of natural light, filtered through the brick facade, as well as the well-considered internal lighting which plays a vital but understated role in the interior.

There are so many neat details in play here, but none of them shout or overshadow the others. DesignOffice has nailed the balance of feature pieces (such as the custom stainless steel high bench with bespoke lighting) that are seamlessly integrated with each other and with the building itself. You'll find yourself noticing more and more of the neat details the longer you spend at Congress - and it’s dangerously easy to spend a lot of time here as the food and wine are honestly delicious.
