When you go upstairs from busy Swanston Street you are transported to a striking minimalist environment and your eye is immediately drawn down the length of the space guided by the stunning neon light and central concrete bench, both of which run the full length of the restaurant. Nothing is hidden in this bold design by Pierce Widera, and every element has been pared-back and presented in its natural beauty.

We love the rich texture and carefully considered details of ISH, a modern Indian restaurant which opened in Fitzroy in October 2018. Architect Annu Bains has done a wonderful job bringing together the warmth of India and contrasting it with the industrial feel of the Gertrude Street location. Exposed brick and industrial-inspired metalwork are juxtaposed with natural leather and soft furnishings which creates an inviting but exciting setting to eat their delicious food.
